What we collect
Only what you type into a form on this site: your name, your email address, and whatever else the form asks for or you choose to tell us.
To stop automated messages, we also keep a one-way scrambled form of your IP address, called a hash, for 24 hours. It cannot be turned back into the address.
Why we use it
To read your message and reply to it and, for an application to the young trader programme, to consider it. If you register interest in events, we use your details to tell you when dates are announced. For these, the lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering people who write to us.
If you subscribe to the newsletter, we use your name and email address only to send it to you. The lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by writing to hello@seadonjones.com.
Where it goes
Your message is emailed to hello@seadonjones.com and kept in the company’s own records, which only the two founders can see. Our email, hosting and database providers handle it for us. We never sell it or pass it to anyone else, sponsors included.
How long we keep it
Messages
- Contact, sponsorship and funding enquiries: 2 years after our last exchange with you.
- Applications to the young trader programme: 12 months.
- Event registrations: 12 months.
Subscriptions and spam
- Newsletter subscriptions: until you ask us to stop.
- Messages our spam checks catch: 30 days.
Cookies and tracking
The public pages of this site set no cookies, and use no analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind.
Your rights
You can ask to see the details we hold about you, correct them, or have them deleted. Write to hello@seadonjones.com. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
